When an Intercom call comes in During a call in progress

Customer has a PTR ACS R6.0 and 18B MLS Sets.
While engaged in an outside call (over PSTN) caller receives an intercom call that can be heard by the other party. What are the options (other than placing the call on hold)for not having the called party hear the inside intercomer??? Thanks in advance.

When the customer hears the intercom, is it a voice announce on their phone or one close by or is it a ringing one their phone?

Its a voice announced call through the speakerphone.

What will happen when someone tries to intercom that person?
Will it ring and then cover to VM? And if so...will the person on the phone be able to tell (via display window) who is intercoming?

Ring once then blink then cover to voicemail. DND will send everything to voicemail with out ringing.
