The thread below has been closed, but I wanted to add a few more ideas on this topic.
thread705-1456538
I often print to PDF printers but noticed today that a number of my reports were unexpectedly no longer printing in color. The thread referenced above was quite helpful in pointing me in the right direction. I had no idea that reports had their own ColorMode.
My resolution to the issue was to do the following:
1. Open the report in preview mode.
2. Go to menu File | Print...
3. Select the applicable printer (in my case CutePDF or PrimoPDF).
4. Click the Properties button.
5. Go to the tab that allows you to select color or black and white, and select color.
6. Click OK.
7. Click Print (this is important, you actually have to print it).
8. Once the PDF is generated, take the report back to design view and click the Save button.
This was the only sure-fire way for me to ensure that the Colormode property was correctly saved for the report.
How did this happen in the first place, you might ask. As far as I can tell, the only common factor in all of the reports that lost their color mode is that I had done a lot of editing in them, including changing their page setup. However, the Page Setup doesn't show the color property, but I suspect that Access resets it to black and white.
I hope this helps someone else with the same issue.
