What's wrong with my Datetime statement

I get this error. "Variable 'thedate' hides a variable in an enclosing block."

Dim thedate as DateTime = "" & themonth & "/01/" & theyears & ""
 
Sort by date Sort by votes
You'll usually get this error if you have already declared this variable earlier in your function. Make sure you haven't already dim'ed it earlier!
