WHATS WRON WITH MY LAYER PALETTE IN PSP7

ok well here is what my layer palette looked like before.

and this is what it looks like now

i want it to look like it did before because then i could change the layers n such without using the top menu. does anyone know how to change it back?

I saw a similiar thread to this and said the hold down ctrl and alt as psp is opening up and i did but nothing happend.
PLEASE HELP!

Hold Ctrl + Alt + Del to reset the program. A box should appear asking if you want to reset the program - answer yes. If no box appears, then it didn't work so you should close and restart PSP again. It is a bit tricky, but eventually you'll be able to do it.
