What's the sequence to upgrading Baystack 450 code?

hi ,

to upgrade your Baystack switches , you have to get two files the image and the diagnostic files ( .img & .bin ) these files are available in nortel website >> customer services >> software dist >> baystack switches

after getting the files ;

use a tftp server to transfere the files to the switch

from main menu >> software download >>
configure the ip address of the tftp server ( where the files are )

>>in diagnostic file field , put the path for your .bin file
>>using space bar select "diagnostic file trans"fere"
>> enter

the switch should transfere the new diagnostic file , after that it will reboot ,

next , you have to upgrade the image

>> software download >> image file path >> select image >> enter .. after that switch reboots with new image ..

you may find these steps well explained in the nortel website under "Customer service Bullitins " ..> BPS switch

Regsrds,

Reminder
If you have cascade module 400-st1
During the download Cascade module should be out.
Insert them after the upgrade is complete.

If you are upgrading to rev 4.x there are two .img files required.
The files are loaded onto the switch via a tftp server following the the menu system on the console port.

The files must be loaded in the correct order, the first being the smaller of the two files.

If you are upgrading from an old release to most recent then Nortel advise that it is carried out in stages.
