I currently have a job that backs up to disk first (folderA) starts at 9pm and ends at 12 - 2 am.
After that completes I have another job that then backups folderA to a Tape that starts at 3:30 am and runs till 5-6 am.
The problem I run into is having the first job (system to folderA) writeover the previous job from the night before. I have media protects only on for 7 hours (long enough to finish the first backup)
These backups run every night.
I have this split backup system in place because the job would take over 24 hours to complete if it went from system directly to tape since I am backing up an exchange server.
