With the new CP4 cards you back up to a compact flash. Do you need one in each drive? If you do an EDD and there is no removeable flash, the system does a backup and says no removeable media device to backup to. Ive seen some schedule commands but haven't tried it. Since these CPU's don't switch over at midnight, if I leave a flash card in CPU 0 and it's running that's fine unless there is a health change and CPU 1 runs the show. If I leave 2 flash cards in then one will usually end up not current.

As you said, CPUs doesn't switch in midnight routine. So only 1 compact flash is necessary, to be installed in the active CPU. You can buy another one for the other CPU, but it will never be sollicitated, unless CPU swith. That compact flash is a standard one
