We are running SQL 2000 Enterprise edition on Windows 2003 server 2003 Enterprise. Because we are on 2003 Enterprise, I believe we can use more than the default 3Gb of RAM? Does this need anything extra like the /3gb switch, AWE etc or will it use more RAM by default?

SQL 2000 Enterprise can use the same amount of RAM that the OS can use. You will still need the /3GB and /PAE switches. You also need to enable AWE in SQL.

If you are using 64bit hardware and 64bit software then you don't need /PAE or /3GB switch nore AWE.
