What is the difference between

# write memory

and

# copy running-config startup-config

?

You can type 6 letters (wri mem) versus 11 (copy run star)... :) Just like write net is the same as copy run tftp , same command . You get get some deprecation warning about write net but its been that way for like 8 years now .

Vet's use "wr mem" actually just "wr"
Newbie's use "copy running-config startup-config

Thanks,

I've been doing Cisco stuff for 15 years now, and have always used wr mem. But I've started getting the certs since the job market is bad, and it may make the difference, and all the cert guides use the copy syntax.
