Can anyone give me a quick primer on the difference between a RAD (or RAD2), Fast-RAD and I-RAD? What works on CICS and MICS at their various system software versions (i.e 4.1, 6.0, 6.1, 7.0, 7.1)?

My research hints that I-RAD is available on CICS after maybe release 6.1?? If I upgrade a CICS from a lower release, like 1.0, does the I-RAD magically appear in the KSU or is there hardware required?...or doesn't work that way at all?

RAD-Older remote device used on 824 and early model MICS. Required a dial tone and a station port.

FastRAD-Newer version of the RAD. Requires only a digital port to function.

I-RAD-I stands for internal. Its a built in remote access on the CICS only. As far as I know it has always been available if you have the correct software. Some softwares support it and some dont. If its not on the version software you have, when you upgrade make sure its on the version you are upgrading to.

What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.
