Whats the difference between 501 and 506e?

Can someone help me identify the difference between 501 and 506e? and why does 506e cost more? It seems like they are similar products. 501 has two interface, but if you use at home, you don't need a switch. 506e can have 4 interface, but you need to buy a switch. Am I correct? What else as far as functionality wise?

I like the VPN/3DES/AES capability.
