I have an all asp website. I just added a bunch of new pages, and for organizational purposes, I moved several pages that were in the root directory one or two levels down in the directory structure. I went through and fixed the links, but it's been a nightmare ever since. wierd things are happening:

1. I run the test site on my test server using ie5.5, and everything is lovely.

2. I run the same exact site on my test server using netscape4.7 and all the links to my changed files keep saying 404 file not found.

I don't get it. - anybody got any ideas? How much water would there be in the ocean if it weren't for sponges?

Beats the heck out of me.

Why not create a little text file with just one line saying "Hello, this is my text file" then upload it into one of your sub-folders and write a little asp code to open and display its contents?

The only other thing that comes to mind is that maybe the sub folders you created have not had the necessary permissions applied to them by your host.

This probably wasn't all that helpful.

yes, I'd thought of that same permissions/creating additonal virtual directories thing, but the only thing that messes up that theory is that these pages can be seen just fine through IE 5.

the crux of the matter is that it works in I.e. but not in communicator - do netscape and ie process link information differently? How much water would there be in the ocean if it weren't for sponges?
