...I just read that Image Composer doesn't have a tool to draw lines. I tried it in Word 2000 but when I imported it, it added strange white bits to the ends - code messing up I suppose.
Several other things: when I type directly onto the page, there are huge gaps between lines of text (text box possible?? - or any way of inserting a text box from something like Word so when I double click on it, it opens the source application for editing - at the moment anything from Word is unrecognised after its been pasted); strange things happen when I move a large vertical line around the page - the screen is too jumpy when leaving the screen (set to the perfect possion tool (or whatever it is)) so it's hard to use and once placed it's treated as text the size of the line! (any way to keep it in placement mode or something rather than keep referring back to a flashing cursor for typing?)

My page seems to be very complicated to build in Front Page, but it was easy in Publisher. I think it's all the overlapping objects and the way FP groups things. Any suggestions to improve the way it works for this type of page? And no templates - my page is nothing like any of them!! - to see the kind of titles graphics etc. I'm using check out
Also I can't find image composer on my copy of Office Premium, anyone know where it is? - it didn't install on my PC when I installed FP.

Help on any of the issues would be greatly appreciated!!

(Sorry for the rushed English - got exams coming up so havn't got much time for all this!!)

If I understand your request, I think what you seek is Tables.

Start playing with them. Tables can appear like Text Boxes, among many other things. And Tables can be nested inside Tables.

Also beware that often Tables will appear differently in NORMAL and PREVIEW. This is partly why there is a PREVIEW mode.

And if you wish to make a page (or site) like the example you listed you might wish to look into Fireworks. FrontPage is (arguably) weak in the design area so supplementing your FrontPage software with Fireworks allows you to create (design) pages like that and open them in FrontPage for incorporating into your site.

What Fireworks will make for you is (ta-da) a Table with the graphics placed.

Check your CDs, Image Composer is on a CD by itself and doesnt automatically installed when u installed FrontPage.

After you get Composer installed you should be able to draw lines. If it by chance doesnt have a line feature (but I think it does, you can "draw" a line by drawing a box, but not expanding it.

I liked the look of your site, what did you do it in?

My site (PraiseTempleChurch.org) is presently in FP, but I'm switching it to Dreamweaver if I ever get the time...
