And whats the best way to pass the a+ test.
What good books are out there that will really help me to pass the a+ test. Is the a+ test really hard.
what advice to you guys give me to pass the a+ software & hardware test.
I got the a+ guide to managing and maintaining your pc book is that a good book to study. its comptia certified.
thanks.

Study and know your stuff. You will be guaranteed to pass the test if you do. A good book is All in One A+ Certification by Michael Meyers 5th edition.

First, print out the exam objectives from CompTIA. This is the blueprint from which to work.

Grab a couple of study guides off the Net.

Look back thru previous posts and you'll find a whole bunch of practice tests you can take for free. Do this AFTER you have studied and got a good grasp of the material.

Good Luck!

From my experience with the A+ tests, and I am on my third attempt for the OS portion of the A+, is that the practice tests from both Michael Meyers and Sybex's latest version (which is the one I'm studying from now) are incredibly easy compared to the actual test. I was that Transcender's practice tests were very helpful by being very challenging. So you will be very prepared for the test. Also practice as much as possible on your computer or volunteer your budding tech skills on friend's or family's computers. Try to make what you are reading as concrete as possible by applying as many real world applications. Good luck to you. (and to myself for my next...and successful attempt at completing my A+)

Good book that goes beyond the exam., May 20, 2004

CompTIA has updated the exam for the A+ Certification once again. And once again you are going to have to find a resource that can give you what you need to pass the exam first time. Once again is it time to take a serious look at Chris Crayton's latest release for the help you need.

In a little over 850 pages there is more than enough information to give you a great chance of passing both the A+ exams. Crayton's knowledge of the subject matter are second to no one and this release is also a technicians dream book as it is packed with troubleshooting and repair information.

The book take on both the hardware and the core exams and [resents that material in a manner that would allow any skill level to grasp and understand what is being presented. I like the organization of the book and how the review is spaced out rather than crammed into each chapter.

The book has a cd with over 300 practice questions and this may be a little short as compared to some of the other manual out there. This problem can be fixed in future updates or a link on the website to download more questions.

Overall this is a very good place to start and if think you are ready than this might and should be the final prep tool.

The A+ Exams Guide: (Exam 220-301), (Exam 220-302)

I purchased this book because, at the time, it was the only one I could find covering the recent CompTIA A+ test revisions. Sadly, the editors seemed in such a rush to get this out to print that they missed several detrimental mistakes and typos in the book AND on the CD. I find this to be inexcusable, ESPECIALLY since it has been out for several months and no errata has been presented by the publisher. Choose this book at your own risk!!
