ANyone know what big advantages there are to ACS 8.0?

CID on single line extensions

Ring tones can be set per extension

CID time sync can be over-ridden if your provider is a flake

Everything else the R7 had

Dont forget, if you upgrade your R8 moving forward, the backup file will convert to the new release....

Also with R8 you can have a lit button display message status for another extension - pretty useful to someone who has downsized, doesn't use a receptionist anymore, but needs to know when there is a message in the general mailbox.

Will the individual exts. programmed feature buttons be retained in memory so when I copy a set all the feature buttons that I programmed will be copied to the new set?

No, but you can always use the remote access gui (easiest through the serial port) and copy from and to any extensions other than 10 or 11. That will take the buttons along with it.
