hi.
sorry, this must sound like a stupid question, but when I'm trying to add an e-mail account in Outlook, and it asks for the incoming and outgoing server address (i.e pop3.whatever.com) I don't have a clue what to enter for hotmail...

I've tried pop.hotmail.com
pop3.hotmail.com
mail.hotmail.com
all to no avail...
please help anyone! I know it can be done..I'm sure I've done it before, just can't remember :(
also, as well as incoming server address for hotmail, what's the smtp address???

allllllll help appreciated.
thanks y'all!

As far as I know, hotmail doesn't have a pop3 or smtp server, it is an html based system. You can sign up via Outlook Express 5.5 as it's given as an option in the new accounts, I don't know about Outlook, you may have to add a new service to be able to do it.

On I saw a utility that would allow you bring your hotmail account in to any email client. I have no idea if it works, but you can try to locate that. Mike Wills
