I'm currently 15 years old, yes pretty young but I have experience with computer's I can basically install/remove/repair any hardware.. I know how to build, modify and set up computers. I know how to network I own a copy of Windows Server 2000 so im fairly educated on it I could be better. Basically my Hardware skills exceed my Networking skills but i'm still very fluent on computer's so what would you guys recommend for when i'm of age to get my certification? I was thinking MCDST since it seems rather easy to get since it only requires 6 months of computer knowledge when I have close to 6 years. MCSA or MCSE i'm not to sure about which would be the better route with the skills I have. (I dont actually have the money to sign up for this i'm merely just planning ahead). So any suggestions, books, help, whatever you guys can throw at me thanks!

graduate from high school, go to college, get a job...

in the meantime, concentrate on enjoying your life while you can...

Let me reiterate.

You will regret not being young. I am roughly three times your age and can tell you with absolute certainty that you should concentrate on high school, girls (assuming you're a guy, else vice-versa), joining clubs, building social skills, and getting ready for the prom.

You will have many years to work on building the technical skills necessary to get a job. That's something to have in mind as you prepare for your college or university...

Right now, no one wants you messing with anyone's work PC. And it'll actually be another year or so before you can legally get a job.

Please don't be another computer geek with no ability to sell to non-computer types... we have enough people willing to settle for $10/hour instead of what they could be making (i.e., 5-10 times that, depending on the total package).

Good luck!!

Wow... 15 with 6 years of PC experence? I remember havinga an Apple IIc and thinking I was the shiznik... (then my neighbor got a mac...)

Go have fun... get your certs when you get through college... hell by the time your out of college you may decide to be a forest ranger...

But if want to know what you should go for as certs here is my list:

A+ first
Net+
(Both of these also get you a cert from the IEEE people)
MCSE (You can get your MCSA on the way to that)
Then whatever certs you want...

JTB is right about Howard Johnson being right...
