I am sure it can be done, but for whatever reason, the report is not allowing it. What properties does the formula need in order to summarize it other than being a numeric field?

Any insight will be appreciated.

Thanks for all the input...At least now I know I'm not crazy.

Now, the question is how would I sum this field. The formula is as follows:

{@Excess Inv Units}*{@Unit Cost}

@Excess Inv Units = ({F3460_1.MFUORG}*2) - Sum ({F3460.MFUORG}, {F3460.MFLITM})

@Unit Cost = ({F3460.MFAEXP}*.01)/{F3460.MFUORG}

You will need a running total field. Use the 3-Formula technique described in faq149-182. Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting

That works great for subtotals, but what I am truly needing is a Total of the printed records in the report footer...

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Same thing, just don't give it a reset formula. It will then be a grand total. Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting

Thanks Ken,

It turns out I was just confusing myself because of some sectional formatting where I was suppressing a large number of records and I was trying to only total the printed records and then total the suppressed records as well.

With your help, I finally figured it out.

Thanks again!
