What would cause a DB2 mainframe account to suspend...

My db2 mainframe account sometimes gets suspended. What would cause this?
I have many pass thru queries that have the info hard coded in the query property.
Nobody is fiddling with the query designer, so what might cause the account to suspend?
Anybody have a clue?

A mainframe account only usually gets suspended if the password is entered incorrectly a set number of times. Are all of your queries where the user and password as hard coded, actually correct?

Many organizations strongly discourage embedding ids/pswds in queries.

Others, take a stronger position . . . which might cause an id to be suspended and if repeted, disciplinary action.

Make sure you understand the ;runs for your system.

If the DB2 is running on z/OS and using a SAF compatible security product the reasons could be either password violations (already stated) or access rule violations. For instance in ACF2 you can suspend an account based on violations of either rules or password. Password is the most common reason though. The best approach is to use SSL or TLS for the connections. This eliminates the password need or would at least protect it going over the network.
