The hub has been checked and is operational. There aren't any server error messages; at least not from admin. Users are given the login prompt but when they enter their passwords they aren't actually logged in. They are later prompted to login again after a minute or two. If you have any solutions they would be really helpful right about now; our network engineer is out of town and can't be reached at this time. I am a helpdesk technician that's not too familiar with network issues.

Helpless in Novell 4.11.

I am assuming this was all working YESTERDAY.

At the server go to System Console (Ctrl/Esc Option 1)

Is there any ABEND message on the server? If so, it the server may have crashed. It can be downed with with the "down" command.

If not:
type "config" and press enter at the prompt.

Is the Network card bound?
Does the protcol match your work stations?

You may want to restart the hub(s) -- you could be getting excess noise or traffic on the cable.

Other than that...
Is IP configured on the server?
If so, can you ping it?
