My application requires focus at key points of its operation. What would be the best way to kill the screen saver via my application? What would be the best way to gain focus for my application via instructions within my application?

What would happen if you posted a WM_SYSCOMMAND with wParam equal to SC_SCREENSAVE? Would that start the screen saver, or interrupt it?
Thanks, I wouldn't have thought to do it that way -- I had forgotten that screensavers on NT run in their own windowstation.
