I am looking to get into the CD Ripping service.. Would a multi-processor or uni processor system be better?

Possibly a Compaq Prolient 6400? or something similar?

Thanks!

I have a couple thousand CD's that I need to rip to my media center. I have more then enough storage at hand (3 Sun Fiber Arrays)..

Thanks!

It depends on the ripping utility. Does it support dual processors? I'd be surprised if rippers are that sophisticated. So more than a single processor will wasted. A single fast processer will suffice: a ProLiant is not an ideal choice of hardware.
