hi!
I have a Gforce 2 gts deluxe 64 mb graphic card with a video/tv output and input. those outputs and inputs are ports with 7 pins. I'm working with win2000. I tried to connect my (very) old VHS to the input port, through something like 3 cables which transformed it from the big and old output of the VHS to the small and elegant 7 pins input of the card. as I expected it didnt work and I could see nothing but black screen in the 'capture' and 'live' windows of the 'asus live'. now, my question is what video device do you think would be the best (and still cheap) to buy? do you suggest a video camera? is there anything important to look for so it will be good to connect to my pc?
thanks in advance!

Uri,
It sounds like you are trying to use your video-out on your card to capture your video. Most video cards can't capture, but you can probably hook your computer up to the TV, using the converter you mentioned.

I am mainly familiar with video capturing on Mac, which uses Firewire. You can get this for PC as well, but I don't know how well it works. However, you can get a capture card for under $100 for PC, I can't recommend any though. If you really want to work with video, Mac is superior to PC. It took me a couple of years to realize that and it still hurts.

Ya ya ya... Mac have to deal with 5 computer parts where as in windows have to deal with million... MAC baah..

Any way.. Try ATI ALL-IN-WONDER.. Best i heard so far.

You can use something such as Dazzle which hooks up to your pc and accepts multiple device connections. Jay [infinity]
