Hi,

What version of Microsoft Internet Explorer is installed when you re-format and re-install windows 98. I want to know what version is installed for the earliest version of Windows 98.

Thanks! NATE

My Windows 98 came with IE version 4 something--not 5. As a matter of fact, Windows 98 Service Pack 1 comes with updates for IE 4.0. IE 5 came out much later. I remember upgrading to IE 5.0 and it was full of bugs. 5.1 fixed a lot of them, then 5.5 was the best. I went to that link you posted, but I couldn't figure out what it was trying to tell me. Ok,

Thanks guys. I ask this b/c I am having problems with IE-5 for the Macintosh. I am making my new website and IE-5 MAC version is giving me some problems. Maybe this problem isn't there is IE-5 or IE-4 for the PC. Do either of you happen to know if there is a bug with IE-5 MAC version that doesn't disply scrolling <DIV>'s properly without resizing the window. My <DIV>'s work just fine on all browsers and platforms except this one, where the <DIV> is not placed correctly yet when you resize the window 1 pixel it pops into place and displays correctly. Have you heard of any bugs like this.

Thanks! NATE
