What version of Domino do I need

I am use to Domino 4.x and I am not sure of what the different types of servers are:

I just want basic mail capabilities also with DB functionality and ability to create these. I assume I need the Application Server? This will be the only Dom server in our org.

app server should do fine.

btw, I'm not sure if they're still selling it, but you might want to look into getting IBM's business suite for linux.

it (used to) sell below the price of a regular app server, and it includes, db2 server, websphere and a domino app server
