What Version of Acrobat Do I Need to Create Text Fields?

Hello,

I have created a brochure that I am going to offer to members in the form of a PDF. Before they print it, they will need to add their name.

Although I have done this in the past, I do not recall how to create the field. I believe I can have some text like "your-name-here" which they can they highlight and change to their name. Any help on how to do this would be appreciated.

But my main problem is that I do not remember what version of Acrobat I used, and it was not on my own computer that I did it. I have Acrobat 5. Is that the first version that offered this capability? I am hoping so, but if I need to upgrade, do I need 6 Standard or 6 Professional?

I have used Acrobat very rarely, and only to to create PDFs for emailable and/or downloadable newsletters and now I need to offer these brochures and calling cards where people will be able to type in their name without changing any other information. What is the minimum version I can use to accomplish these requirements? I am not in a position to buy software right now unless absolutely necessary.

Any help will be sincerely appreciated.

Any full version of Acrobat prior to 6. Get an old package of Acro 3 or Acro 4 or Acro 5, any of these will work.

Acro 6 started charging more for these "form" functions, and you need "professional" version if using Acro 6
