I'm new to Photoshop and I'm using Photoshop 7 at work. What I want to know is, I know Photoshop CS is the latest version, but how old is the version I'm using? Is CS version 8 or 9? Is there a lot of stuff I'm missing by not having CS?

Cheers,

Mike

I am pretty sure CS is 8 and CS2 is 9

Kind Regards

It depends on what you do. Check the new features list of CS2 on adobe.com

LOL

in my case - i have not really found any major improvement since version 5.5

i feel that many people just can't resist having the latest toys - and then use about 5% of its functionality

but, as jim states, it really depends on what you do!

Kind Regards
Duncan

I Agree But many things have been made easier to do with later versions. I stopped at 7.

I hate to say it but you guys do not know what you are missing. I am a studio manager, and I use the extra features ALL THE TIME. It has paid for itself in labor savings alone. Especially Bridge. I can't wait to see Brige v2. Have you ever heard of healing brush, vanishing point, 32 bit color, layer grouping, adjustments as layers, high dynamic range, automatic image processing/scripting, customizable keyboard shortcuts, smart objects, smart sharpen, lens correction, on and on...

If you are going to upgrade, don't bother with CS, go right to CS2...Photoshop on steriods!!
