Hello.

I am running Legato Networker 5.5.3 on a Sun Ultra 2. I have set up a pool to run backups of my sybase DB to a storage node and assigned the group that I wanted it to run with in the pool window. How come it isnt running with the group?

Thanks in advance for any help.

There could be a few reasons.. First, how are you backing up the database? Hot, or cold? Are you using a NetWorker module? What do you have in the backup command box for that client profile?

Let us know, and hopefully, we can help.

Thanks for the help...

1) Don't understand what you mean by hot or cold.

2) I'm using BSM for sybase by Legato

3) I have nsrsybsv -U xxxx -P xxxx -s server -l full SYBASE:/HOST/table in the backup command.
Hope I answered these right...if not, feel free to let me know. Thanks again for help.

Josh

Hey -

You answered everything right.. A hot backup is one in which you do not take the database down.. So, using the BSM, would indeed be a hot backup.

What version of the BSM are you using?

Try running a preview save, for example,

savegrp -p -vvv -c <client_name> <group_name>

What does the output look like?
