For a small business, what would be the best type of printer? Would there be any advantages of using a laserjet or dot matrix over the common inkjet printer? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to help a small business owner with this choice - deals with home appliances. My own thought is that possibly the ink costs would be less with laserjet, but I am unsure. Any web links for information would also be helpful
Thanks for any assistance,

Ink printers will probably be cheaper as long as you print less than 200 pages a month. As soon as it goes above you should consider a small laserprinter, as the pages per cost will be much lower. The only advantage of the inkjets might be that they are cheap and most of them print in color, but the color cartridges are usually expensive even when refilled compared to laser printers. Also the color laser printers has dropped a lot in prize during the last year, and I bet a lot of homeusers will consider this sollution as they are a lot faster than inkjets and cheaper in use when printing color.
Just my 5 cent... [wink]

Thankyou for your advice. I ended up going with the inkjet for the business owner, b/c he does not print a whole lot. I seriously doubt (at this point) he will be printing 200 pages per month. Also, the cost of around $100 for just a good hp inkjet verses the minimum $200 to $300 for a laserjet influenced him greatly. He thought he wanted dot matrix, but we found that the inkjet can fit all his needs. He will be printing mostly, if not totally, black and white. The printer we ended up with has 19 ppm fastest speed for black ink. I am sure that is fast enough for him.

Again, thanks for your advice... if nothing else, I will remember it for future individuals to whom I offer assistance.
