Hi, were trying to connect to an FXO port but think we're using the wrong type of BT/PSTN cord, we have tried them from BT phones and many other variations.

Can anyone help/guide me in the right choice of cable/pin outs?

For an FXO port all you need is pins 4,5. Non polarity sensitive unless they are ground start trunks

Tried several cords configured like that but keep getting like a busy tone.

are we missing some thing in the FXO config?

If you connect a buttset at the end of that cord,do you get dial tone? If you do then yes your config is wrong. If you don't get dial tone then you need to fix that first.

Found some cord configurations diagrams on the web tried them no success put it back together and it works, no changes to the config or anything else, tried the cord with a phone before this so know it was good, make dirty contacts in the new FXO card or bent pins or something????

If the wiring is good then it's probably a configuration issue. Check your MGCP configuration of using MGCP or your dial-peers and RP in cucm if h323.
