What type of catalog do you use? We use Distributed 2

In the next year I will have to rewrite all our exising catalogs due to an almost complete rewrite of our ERP system. I chose to use Distributed catalogs, so that I could update them during normal working hours if needed.

Users have complained about all interaction required to save a personal copy. Should I change to "Shared" catalogs when I re-release the new catalogs?

I dropped Distributed catalogs years ago. Too much hassle in updating them.

I use Shared exclusively. There might be special circumstances where any of the others might be useful.
