What to use for Solaris 9, want to learn

I'm new to Solaris and I'm looking for a system to install on. I'm not looking to spend the big bucks on a high end system, this is going to be used at home as a learning tool. I'm looking to learn user management, setup apps server, web server, mail server, learn java, etc... Would the Ultra 5 be suitable for what I'm looking for, I know it's a desktop but it seems to meet the hardware requirements that are on Sun's website. Should I go with the Ultra 5 or look for something else. Also does anybody know of some sites that have good prices for Used/Refurbished Sun systems or any place in NJ/NYC that also has good deals and good reputation.

An ultra 5 or sun blade 100 will be suitable.
