Anyone know if returning off-warranty no-support dead cards is worth the time or money? I've got a TN464 with a burnt spot on it, and another that just doesn't work. Should I chuck them in the trash or is there a reasonable repair channel for these cards?
i think with the frustration and hassle that it may bring when repaired, it will probably be most cost effective just to toll them away. but thats just my opinion.
Give them to someone that has maintenance?
In Denver it is illegal to throw circuit boards in the trash due to toxic chemicals in them.
I talked to one person that tried to sell them back to Avaya so they could repair them but Avaya wouldn't take them for any price.
The one that has a burnt spot is probably not repairable cuz there is internal circuits on the board.
Make sure none of the pins are bent on the back on the other one. Maybe you could sell them on ebay to someone in East Europe that can fix it.

there are plenty of firms that buy non-conditional equipment, refurbish it and then sell at low price. try to google something like 'refurbished avaya equipment', guys that sell you most often can either by it themselves or direct you to someone. be warned that you wouldn't collect much on these cards but you definitely should be able to get at least a pack of beer.
