Hi all,

I have SQL Database Server and when it restarts it gives me these message in Sql Logs.

Starting up database 'master4IDR'.
Starting up database 'model4IDR'.

why and what does this database means?

Thanks,

If the SQL Server is restarting, then it has to restart the databases too. If you are seeing these messages in the logs WITHOUT restarting the SQL Server, have a look at this FAQ: faq962-3690

Hope this helps!

Hello.

I know it's been several months since your post, but I'm wondering if you ever got this resolved as I am seeing the same references in my log to the mysterious: model & master 4IDR.

Thanks

They are referencing databases your Veritas Backup Software is using as part of its backup process.

Thanks

Thanks, Jay.

Does anything need to be done about this? Our server admin sees a nightly error "consistency checks have failed."

May need to take a look at your Veritas manual for hints on this matter. He may need to adjust his MaintPlan that is doing the Consistency Checks and define each DB that needs to be checked specifically. Other than that, there is no harm.

Thanks

i am also getting this error in log back up as well:

BlkHeader from strip 0 At 38a66400 ExpectedAt 38a66400 Size 400 PrevSize 200

how can i resolve this!!!?

i do that from SQL EM job runs but here is the step it executes:

BACKUP LOG [op_apps_daily] TO DISK = N'G:\Afternoonlogsbackups\Op_apps_Afternoonlog' WITH INIT , NOUNLOAD , NAME = N'op_apps_daily backup', NOSKIP , STATS = 10, NOFORMAT

yeah G is the drive i put all my back ups from log to full!!!

and if i try to do in different file name it gives me error saying that cannot process media family!!!
