Hi,
I would like to add an H100 station to my Avaya Aura CM system. What station type should I choose from the "add station next" command?
Thanks,
Simon

Is this always/only for H100 or can it be for other phones as well?

By the tone of your question, does the H175 happen to be the first SIP station which you are implementing?

Your original question is answered in documentation ("Installing and Maintaining Avaya H100-Series Video Collaboration Stations").

This is totally a theoretical question, I am trying to programatically find the number of video phones in an existing system (not mine), by using the "list station" command and examinig phone type field.
Obviously for this to be feasible I need to know how video phone stations are registered. Any ideas?

In that case the station isn't a good way to see which type of phone is connected as someone might have put 9641SIP as standard for all SIP extension.
You would need to look in System Manager to see what is registered on the Session Manager.

Does this mean that all that I can really extract from the list station command is whether the station is an IP phone or not? Is this also true for non-IP phones, can a station of one type be connected to a port that is configured for another station type?

list station would show administered station type, not actual. You'd probably need to check in SMGR under registered sets, but even then, it shows only the firmware for 9600 types. So, I wouldn't implicitly know if it's a 9608, 9608g, 9611, etc. If all H1xx have different firmwares per model, that might be enough.
snmp gets from the endpoints might be easiest
