We are rewriting our Unix/C sales system with a Java/JSP thin client intranet system.

We currently have Informix/C on a meaty Unix box.

Our new infrastructure will consist of a meaty Unix box with Oracle on it (and some legacy business logic), but between that and the client PCs will be a layer of Application servers (3 Unix boxes running Borland App. Server 6, serving JSPs, with POJOs - no EJBs).

What we really could do with knowing, if anyone has a similar infrastructure, what spec. of Unix App. Server's do you have? Processor, OS, memory. It would be useful to know what box your DB is on also.

Many thanks.

We run a major production system & several online ordering sites.

Our Oracle 9 DB runs on Solaris 9, a V880 with 7.2GHz of CPU and 4GB RAM connected to a 4 terrabyte RAID (soon to be 2Gbit fibre 8Tb SAN - nice).

Our main site has a cluster of 5 webservers, all dual Xeon dell machines running Linux on 2.8 GHz processsors & 2Gb real RAM, 2Gb swap.
