My MTU is set to 1000 for some unknown reason in my netgear router. We connect to an adsl connection through this and an adsl modem. If I wanted to change it back to 1500(default) would this cause any problems?
Also the netgear is running PPPoe and I'm trying to figure out what kind(supposedly there are tweaks even for the PPPoe?)
Any help as ever, gratefully accepted).

Cheers.

For PPPoE, the MTU setting should not exceed 1492. If you have any problems, you can always lower it in increments until you find a working number, but 1492 should do it.
