What should i backup ??

Ok, I'm backing up 12 servers and a huge file server. The backup is growing and now i needs more that on AIT2 tape to backup the whole content. The second tape is only used for less than 1GB.

Huricane Lili got me doing full backups to take offsite. Now what can I trim. I started excluding stuff like Program Files\Outlook Express and such. Now doing some reading, the way a server is restored, so I need to backup the whole Winnt directory? For sure I'm backing up the whole System32 folder but what about Winnt\ServicePackFiles or Winnt\Help.

Won't the System State backup the system32 dll's that I need?

Also, si there a faster way to edit the Advance Selection as I have several Selection Lists and I just wnat to copy and paste most of my exclusions...

In short... What can I safely Exclude....

As far as I can remember you won't need the pagefile.sys and hiberfil.sys (if there) to restore your system.

since you need a working 2k server to restore from, do a system state, a registry (if required/available separately) and then skip all OS stuff.
