How do i find out what service pack i am running on my servers without shutting them down?
Thanks

Right click on My Computer. Scroll Down to Properties. The General Tab should have your OS Version Plus any Service Packs installed.

Hope this helps.

Goto Administrative Tools folder and choose Windows NT Diagnostics.

These methods don't distinguish between SP6 & SP6a. Start > Run > winver will tell you which you have.

Cheers for that guys

winver is definitely one I'll remember.

Thanks

Does anyone know how to detect if the system files have not been modified since the last time you set the service pack ?

burgdavid:

Set up the auditing, even though I wouldn't recomment to trace the access to system files: the consequences are unpredictable (from lock-ups to...). There is a bunch of third-party shareware tools to keep track of your system, though.

Ok, thanks.

I already now about theses numerous third part tools but I was expecting that microsoft finally add one official in a recent SP.

David.
