What Server to use with WIn2000Pro 1

Hello,

I want to develop web apps on my home computer running WIn2000 Professional. Is WIn2000Pro equipped to develop on my localhost without having to publish over the internet? What is the best way to go without upgrading to Win2000 Server? Do I need to download MS Personal Web Server?

If you mean you want to create websites with content such as asp, then you will need to install IIS, which ships with Win2KPro. However, it will only allow you to create a single website (You need the server edition to create more). A workaround though, is to use virtual directories

e.g.

http://localhost/site1

http://localhost/site2

etc
