My Vidar Truscan Select P-75 engineering scanner has not been used in a couple of years and my pc's have been replaced with new ones. I am running win XP pro sp2. The scanner was originally purchased with an adaptec 2930 scsi card. The vidar website has a software and firmware download for older models but I'm trying to find out what scsi card would be recommended. The original scsi cable had a 50 pin connection.

Why not get the 2930?
Adaptec's AHA-2940UW is ubiquitous, and an industry standard, but if you KNOW the 2930 works with the scanner, my recommendation would be to go with what you know works.
