I have optus cable connected to my network card. I would like to install a Router/Firewall. I currently use Checkpoint VPN-1 SecureClient Version 4.1 SP-5 3DES with the encription scheme set to FWZ to connect to my work. I tried a Netgear FVS318 but could not get it to work. Can someone please advise on a router that will allow the VPN to passthrough it as I have spent days trying to find one with no success. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,

It sounds like I use exactly the same setup for 2 years without issue. If you are using the VPN-1 SecuRemote client, and it's setup properly....then your Netgear FVS318 shouldn't give you any problems, as long as you're on the internet. I haven't tried using the integrated VPN capability of the box...but it's not important for me since I never need to access the firewalled network from any computer other than my main laptop at home.

If you recently made some changes on your firewall (like adding a subnet to your work network that you're trying to access)...but sure to UPDATE the site in SecuRemote.
