I wonder with a Win2k upgrade installation from Win95 what really happens? Does it totally get rid of any existence of Win95 or does it keep any part of this dead dog-(win95). I hope that it would totally wipe the drive clean from it and then install the Win2k. Does anybody have any idea on this? I would like to know out of curiosity and for a friend? I see no documentation from Microsoft on this. TIA...

In my personal opinion, I look at it as I would the brand new 2001 Pontiac Grand AM. You know darn well their using a lot of those same parts from the 1996 version. It just LOOKS better on the outside now.

Yeah thats what I am thinking. Thanks for the laugh. :)

The registry Is "merged" between the 2 OSs. So as you can guess if you have problems with Win95 then you will have problems with upgrading to 2000. Though the SP1 can make it a whole lot more stable. It does not format it. It does clean the registry then puts its own on then "IMPORTS" the win95 registry. I like the Grand Am analogy. Pretty witty.

That makes since butchrecon. I suppose then it would be ok if someone wanted to upgrade so long as they use SP1 when completed. Thanks for the input.
