Have win 7 on acer aspire and installed Oracle VM Virtualbox inside. Have installed win 2000prof in VirtualBox to try to run HPLazerjet 2550. Tried OpenOffice3.3 to try to run both programs, doesnt work. Printer is responding to win 2000 but now need to use word prossesing and media to function on both systems or ?. Was suggested to just use win2000 to do all. Something is bogging down Win 7. Concern is- too much for Acer Aspire? I think I'll remove Open Office Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

so far so good... but is the Win7 64bit or 32bit...?

Why? there is a driver (HP Universal driver) that works with that printer under Win7...

you know, OO is an office suite, and it DOES NOT run programs... Programs are run under the OS, or is that what you meant?

btw. OO should run perfectly under W7 with no problems...

Probably all the crapware that comes along with an Acer Win7 install, e.g. Norton...

PLEASE, elaborate on what you are attempting and why wou need W2k... then we may be able to give you better instructions and information concerning your issue...
