Is there an easy way to find out what processors are in my servers without rebooting them (to read the bios reports), and without pulling them out of the rack and taking the lids off!! Can I just run some app that'll tell me I have 2xPIII 500's or whatever?

Cheers.

Adrian.

click start->programs->administrative tools->windows nt diagnostics. from this window, click on the system tab and check out the processor info field at the bottom for the actual processor speed of your computer. you may need to round it off to a recognized market processor speed but this is the actual speed performance of your cpu.

keep posted.

:)

Cheers for that - one more thing, that gives speed, but how do I tell if it's a PI, II, III etc...?? I guess that it's hidden within the helpful x86 Family 6 Model 5 Stepping 1 statement (why does windows make everything so darn difficult??).... Is there a site somewhere that translates these statements into useable processor types?

Cheers.

Adrian.
