Hi all,

The project I'm working on requires reports to be printed as quickly as possible. What file format prints faster PS or PDF or is there no noticeable difference??

Also this may be an obvious question but is there specific printers for printing PS or is it just the drivers you use on any printer that can understand PS?

Thanks in advance,
Carl

I have found that PDF's print much much slower than say the same document from it's original source.

As for PS I believe that the printer's hardware is specifically designed for it. For example most all HP printers are either PCL or PS. Thats not to say a software driver couldn't convert on to the other, but it wouldn't be faster then printing in hardwares intended format.

As I understand it, anything you send to print will be converted to PS by the printer driver so there is no way of getting it faster
