I have a NT4S42AA DE4ES SINGLE CHANNEL BANK SHELF (from google). We are using this as our paging system on an Air Force Base. The Air Force is replacing our SL-100 for an Avaya 8500? IP system. They need to know how to hook this up to the Avaya switch. We have no documentation on this old system. I know that we have it plugged up to a T-1. Just not sure how it will work on the new system. Any information you guys might have would be great. Here is a picture of what it looks like.

That is a channel bank, and (my guess) is it would connect to trunks in your PBX, then the above "box" would connect to the T1 and go somewhere and come out as trunks at the other sites. The trunks at the other sites would connect to the distant paging systems.

GT is almost correct , what you have is a T1 going to a channel bank if you look at the channel bank the first channel is Hospital Page the next is Code Blue. Each has it own access code going to the T1 and then each channel is connected to a different page.Haven't seen this set up in a lot of years.
