Windows XP, codename Whistler, is the upcoming replacement for Windows 2000 and ME. It's currently in Beta2, and the most obvious new feature is the look (which requires a powerful graphics card and processor).
I dunno about "powerful graphics processor" CitrixEngineer.
I'm running it in several machines having only ATI Rage Pro chips on the motherboard and 4MB of graphics RAM. Works just fine up to 1024 x 768 (32-bit Trucolor) but looks nearly as good and perfectly usable at 1024 x 768 (16-bit Hicolor).
I you mean 256-color mode doesn't cut it though, I'd have to agree.
Yes, but on-board graphics cards steal system memory - up to 64Mb of it.
You should try it on an old pentium 200 system with a 4Mb PCI card. It makes a real difference simply upgrading the gfx to a 32Mb job - and AGP is significantly faster than PCI
