to make a Long story Short I'm Currently using a Viking DLE300 in a Unique application where the phone on End A can Call pickup the phone and call End B, and visa Versa and the DLE300 has a Audio Feed on what's being heard on the Line will go over a Set of Speakers, is there anyone else who makes a Simular product ?

after a bit more looking around I did come accross the web page for the section for Automatic phone line simulators the the AS-26 or BA-22, seem like they would fit the "bill" as they Have Audio outputs and A will ring B Just fone

so you are doing this application on a dry pair of wires?how far is point a to b?

several of the larger switches can handle that with included software. are you in a switch enviroment? i think the norstar (and toshiba) ksu's have a door phone type option that do the same thing

unfortunately we don't have either Nortel, or toshiba systems it's basically a "dry Pair" from point A to B, and another Dry pair from B to C, point a is a 2554 Wall phone, and point C plugs into what is basically a Glorified 1a2 key system

if nothing else you have reliability. no cpu no software. battery and copper, it's been a while 25 years or so but sanbar products had a lot of that type of applications that were built for add on's to the 1a2 enviroment. valcom comes to mind. we still have old rt19 dial icms on the wall in some of our remote closets

the nice thing about having a shoe box on the wall
is that if you need to hook up a claxon or you need
a pwr supply you are all set!!

thanks but No, the Viking unit hasn't "broke" yet so I don't want to fix it if I don't have to, (unless of course its free)

Well, I don't sell them, I just install them so I can not make a proposal there, nor would I seriously in this forum. I just saw the 1A2 information and thought it would possibly be time to look at something newer. I have actually replaced a couple 1A2's with newer systems and was amazed that the 1A2 was still working. They certainly were built to last. I would consider having replacement in the budget and a quote sitting on your desk ready to sign if the functionality is mission critical.

Other than that, the above responses seem like good advice.

i wouldn't recogmend a 1a2 for a new install either, but there are 1000's of them still out there. a secondary company, sanbar used to make equiptment that would work on dry pair for a ringdown then interface with any system as a loop start trunk
