What is the R/3 for???
the release I use is: R/3 release 4.6C

is that like saying: version 3.4.6.C?

Just wondering...

Sad I know this, but I did work for SAP for a while.

It is;

Real time, 3 tier architecture (client/apps servers/db servers)

and R2 is

Real time, 2 tier architecture

Thanks...

Hi there,

R/3 stands for three-tier architecture.
In the early days of my youth I worked on SAP R/2, thus a 2-tier architecture.
